Temple Sings With The World Music Mission

Temple and her husband, Brent, did two performances recently at Christ Community Church with the World Music Mission. The WMM is a minstry Brent has started at CCC to connect music resources with missons opportuities, and to explore world music and multi-cultural worship.

The first show was on June 28 and was called Bluegrass & BBQ. The show was set up to raise awareness about the Appalachian mission trip that CCC was sending in July. Over 250 people showed up and a great time was had by all. Joined by a great group of bluegrass players and friends, Temple did some great old bluegrass standards and some modern acoustic music as well.

Below is a video from the evening.

The next gig, on July 25th was a Carribean Night show, to raise money for the youth of CCC, who are going to Jamaica in July for a great mission trip.

The music was reggae and islan-flavored and almost 200 people came out to dance and eat jerk chicken. The WMM raised $140 for the trip through donations and everyone had a great time dancing to the music. The set featured Bob Marley songs, praise and worship tunes, and a few Police numbers.

It was a great night and a great start for the World Music Mission.

Temple & Brent Perform With Steely Dan tribute band

Temple and Brent had an exciting New Years Eve 2008, performing with Deacon Diamond, a Steely Dan tribute band. The gig was at Bluesboro in Murfreesboro TN and the band was hot. Featuring 11 players, including a horn section, Deacon Diamond pulled out some classic Dan in the form of "FM", "Time Out of Mind" and "Reelin' In The Years", to name a few.

Temple sang BGV with Brent, who also played percussion. There were some great friends there and it was a night that won't soon be forgotten.

Hoppefully there will be more shows for this great band. We'll keep you posted...!

Temple performed at the famous Bluebird Cafe in Nashville on Tuesday May 10. She was performing as part of Mamapalooza, a festival of singer-songwriters who are also mothers. It was a very cool evening, and the response to her performance was fantastic.

Accompanied by her husband, Brent, and their 4-month old daugher Aja (who was dozing in the Maya wrap Temple was wearing) took the stage to perform a new son "I Will Stay". She brought the house down and got a rousing ovation.

A lot of fun at a great place, with tons of cool people.

Goodbye MP3.com

MP3.com has closed it's doors. Before the site was shut down, Temple had almost 3,500 downloads of her two songs. We are sad to see MP3.com go. They were a great resource for independent musicians.

Temple's version of the bluegrass standard "Wayfarin' Stranger" climbed to #4 on the MP3.com Bluegrass charts, with over 300 downloads in two days. The tune is found on Temple's debut EP "I Can't Hide My Heart", and features her dad Alen Passmore on guitar and her uncle Tim Passmore on mandolin.

Temple also saw her tune "Fly Into My Arms" climb to #13 on the MP3.com AAA charts.
